ABOUT THE DESIGNER

After calling Manhattan and Brooklyn home for over a decade, traveling the world and living on the west coast, I decided to return to the same small town where it all began in the Hudson Valley, with my husband Brian, daughter Scarlett, son Rising, and dogs Shepard and Janja. Moving back north has been a joy. Now instead of dodging traffic, we take daily hikes and enjoy renovating our “California Contemporary” home. Which has been a very rewarding labor of love.I come from design blood. My parents started a successful steel window restoration business. The business has made a huge impact on the preservation world allowing historical homes like Frank Lloyd Wrights’ Fallingwater to sustain their original charm and architectural allure. Now run by my brother Todd, Seekircher Steel Window continues to work all over the country breathing life into old special things, making them glow and last a lifetime. Attention to restoration and renovation will always be a strong passion of mine and to be honest I think it’s what made me jump into my own home renovation so easily.Upon graduating college with an Interior Architecture degree in 2004, I moved to NYC, like we all do. It was here that I furthered my design experience working for Clinique Store Design and Project Fashion Trade Shows. At these jobs I honed my skills in event planning, space planning, merchandising and commercial design. After that I realized it was time to get back to my roots, specifically interiors. I focused my attention on creating custom cabinetry design and organization with California Closets, where I excelled to be one of the leaders in sales and design. Learning how to help people manage the many buckets of their lives and giving more space to live and prosper was extremely rewarding.Scarlett Rising Designs was formed in 2020 to serve clients in the Hudson Valley, Montauk, Manhattan and Westchester, The places I spend the majority of my time. Most of us need a little help making our Instagram and Pinterest Boards a reality. It takes imagination and practice, but most of all it takes education and experience. Design doesn’t have to be busy, budget busting or overwhelming anymore. Simplifying spaces and allowing for your true interests and taste to come through is EVERYTHING and I love exploring that with people.My design inspo mostly comes from Contemporary Modern design as well as Mid Century and Craftsman periods. I love a clean and simple canvas with specifically curated design elements that grab your attention when you walk into the space. Since I started in interior design over 20 years ago the game has changed time and time again. Watching trends come and go and studying how people live and use a space is fascinating for me. It’s a career that inspires me daily and always leaves me wanting more.
